Teenage defender Stefan de Vrij has agreed to extend his contract at Feyenoord until July 2014, the Dutch club has confirmed.
The 19-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at the Eredivisie club, began his senior career in Rotterdam in 2009 and was originally tied to the outfit until 2012.
The Dutchman had attracted attention from several European clubs, with Premier League giants Arsenal thought to be interested in his services.
But De Vrij has now agreed to pen a new deal which will see his stay at Feyenoord prolonged by three years.
The youngster told
SEG: "I always said I would prefer to stay and I'm glad it came.
"Feyenoord is the right club for me."
De Vrij hopes team-mates Georginio Wijnaldum, Ron Vlaar and Leroy Fer will follow his lead and commit their futures to the club.

"Of course, the better the team I play in, the better it is for me and the better I get," he said.
"I hope they also (sign new deals), but they are smart enough to know what is best."
Feyenoord have endured a turbulent season, but after struggling early on they have escaped from the brink of relegation to sit a more comfortable 10th in the Eredivisie.
De Vrij is determined the club will have a less dramatic campaign next year, adding: "We have a difficult year behind us with many setbacks, but we are better.
"I hope we can look up again next season. In any case, I do not want another year like this season."
