Alessandro Nesta is believed to be stalling over signing a new deal at Milan.
Milan have been planning to offer the Italian international a contract extension.
Nesta's current deal expires in two years and Milan are keen to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
However, reports emanating from Italy suggest Nesta is in no rush to pledge his future to the Rossoneri as he is considering a return to Lazio before he ends his career.
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insists there is no worries regarding Nesta's future at the Giuseppe Meazza.
"Nesta still has two years before his contract with us comes to an end, there is no rush to discuss an extension," said Galliani.
Meanwhile, Milan are thought to be considering a move for Argentine ace Fernando Cavenaghi.
The 23-year-old is believed to be unhappy at current club Spartak Moscow and is keen to make a move when the January transfer window reopens.
The news has alerted Milan ,who could offer Cavenaghi an escape route of Russia.
Milan could face competition from the likes of Roma, Torino and Lyon for the highly-rated striker.
