Emiliano Bonazzoli opened the scoring for Samp when he nodded home Mirko Pieri's cross in the 69th minute.

But Georgian international Kakha Kaladze latched onto a Gennaro Gattuso pass (84) to clinch a point for Milan.

Milan remain in the bottom half of the table after starting the season with an eight-point deduction, while Sampdoria climb one place to ninth.

In the evening game, Siena came from behind to beat Messina 3-1.

Christian Rigano fired Messina in front with a penalty on 20 minutes, only for Abdoulay Konko to equalise on the stroke of half time.

Siena's Vincent Candela was then sent off two minutes from time, but his side incredibly managed to score twice before the finish through Mario Frick (89) and  Francesco Cozza (90).
