Caso relieved at draw

A Roberto Muzzi strike earned Lazio a deserved draw away to Atalanta.

Mimmo Caso was a relieved man after a Roberto Muzzi strike earned Lazio a deserved draw to Atalanta at the Stadio Azzurri D`Italia.

The home side took the lead in the eleventh minute through a Carmine Gautieri goal and looked to have held out for victory until Muzzi restored parity five minutes from time.

The game was marred by a head injury to Atalanta defender Cesare Natali, though later examination confirmed his condition is not as serious as initially thought.

Lazio coach Caso was glad his side took a point from the game, but felt they created enough chances to win the match.

He said: "In the first half, we made one mistake and Atalanta scored.

"From that point on, we controlled the game and had many opportunities to win.

"If we had left the pitch with a loss, it would have been wrong."

His Atalanta counterpart Andrea Mandorlini agreed with Caso, saying: "Sure, Lazio played better than us and had more chances to clinch the game.

"It is a pity for the draw, but I think the result is right."
