Lazio put their recent bad form behind them with a 2-0 win against Modena in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia.

Goals from Simone Inzaghi and Roberto Muzzi gave Lazio a morale-boosting win ahead of crunch games against Juventus and Sparta Prague.

"It was a good performance and for this we are happy," said coach Roberto Mancini (pictured).

Elsewhere, both Udinese and Parma picked up useful away wins to take into the second legs.

Luciano Spalletti's Udinese won 1-0 against Bologna, with Marek Jankulovski scoring the crucial goal, whilst Parma's Alessandro Rosina and Gaetano Grieco scored in a 2-0 win over Venezia.

"It's a good result. We played well and deserved our victory," said Gialloblu coach Cesare Prandelli.

"But the tie isn't over and we cannot underestimate them in the second leg.

"Now they have nothing to lose."
