Serie A giants Roma have signed striker Fabio Borini on a co-ownership deal.
The Capital giants picked up the former Chelsea youngster on loan at the start of the campaign from Parma, with an option to buy.
And after a string of impressive displays, Roma's head coach Luis Enrique was keen to acquire the player's services as quickly as possible.
Now the Giallorossi hierarchy have moved to make his stay at the club a permanent one - six months early.
Roma stated on their official website that Borini has been signed for £3.8million on a co-ownership deal until 2016.
The statement also revealed that Roma immediately sold back 50 per cent of Borini's rights to Parma for £1.9million.
The move effectively means that Roma have swapped a loan deal for a co-ownership deal, giving the club a more secure hold over the player's future, but Parma will retain the other 50 per cent of Borini's rights.
Borini, 20, starred in the club's 4-0 drubbing of Inter Milan at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, scoring an impressive brace and agent Marco De Marchi has compared the player to AC Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi.
He told Tuttomercatoweb: "Roma were quick to make a move for the player and have now taken him on a permanent deal six months in advance.
"Borini grew up at Chelsea under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, but when it came to discussing his contract renewal, the boy was left out of the squad.
"In terms of comparisons with Inzaghi, Ancelotti, who has coached both (Chelsea and AC Milan), was the first one to do it.
"Of course Inzaghi is a legend of football and one of the strongest strikers in history. However, their technical qualities are very similar as are their great personality."
