Spanish coach Luis Enrique has officially been named as the new boss at Serie A outfit Roma.
The former Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder has penned a two-year contract.
Roma had hoped to have completed a deal much sooner, but have seen issues outside of their control delay an official announcement.
They are, however, now in a position to confirm that Enrique will take charge of first-team affairs from next season.
In a statement, the club revealed that their new manager would receive a gross salary of €2.9million in 2011/12 and €3.1million the following season, with possible bonuses on top.
The 41-year-old arrives at Stadio Olimpico with no prior experience of life in such a high-profile position.
His only coaching duties to date have been with the Barcelona B team.
He left that position in March despite having two years left to run on his contract at Camp Nou.
Enrique steps into the void created by Vincenzo Montella's departure.
