Rodrigo Taddei admits Roma made too many errors in their UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal on Tuesday.
The Italians slipped to a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their last-16 encounter at Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners wasted a number of glorious opportunities to build on their slender advantage, helping to keep Roma's European dreams alive.
Taddei believes Luciano Spalletti's men will learn from the mistakes they made in North London and is expecting a better performance when the two sides reconvene in a fortnight's time.
"We weren't surprised by them," said the Brazilian.
"We knew we were going to be up against a very great team and that's how it proved.
"We have a fortnight to work and try not to make the same mistakes.
"We were up against a great team. We knew what a tough challenge we were in for here but we're all disappointed with the result."
Taddei admits Arsenal hold the upper hand heading into the second leg of their contest, but is refusing to write off Roma's chances of reaching the quarter-finals.
He added: "We have a fortnight to work hard to try to get the result that we're all expecting.
"We hope to go through, it might not be a 50/50 chance anymore, but we'll give our all to try to get a result and go through."
