Roma defender Philippe Mexes is hoping to win a new deal at the Stadio Olimpico.
The France international has been continually linked with a move away from Roma with Real Madrid credited with an interest in him.
However, Mexes insists he is happy to stay at Roma and is ready to sign a new deal once a few minor issues have been resolved.
"The future? Around my renewal there are a few question marks, but I'm ready to find an agreement point with Roma," said Mexes.
"I feel good there and should I think of a new transfer, maybe having to talk another language, I'm not happy. For this reason I'm optimistic."
Meanwhile, Mexes will miss France's friendly with Argentina on Wednesday because of a foot problem.
The news is a blow for Mexes as his inclusion in the squad for the Argentina game was his first call-up in three years.
