Philippe Mexes has admitted he is still frustrated at missing out on the World Cup.
The Roma defender was left out of Raymond Domenech's 22-man squad for last summer's finals.
Mexes remains miffed at missing out on the squad and claims he deserved a place in Domenech's plans ahead of Pascal Chimbonda.
"To me, it is a shame that they [the French coaching staff] went to Wigan before the World Cup whereas they didn't even came to watch me play the final of Italian Cup," Mexes told France Football.
"It is true that I deserved to be called more than others.
"I humbly think I had nothing to envy of players who were called up last season."
