Francesco Totti has returned to action after almost three months out injured.
Francesco Totti returned to action after almost three months out in the Coppa Italia final against Internazionale.
The Italian playmaker had not played since breaking his ankle in Roma's Serie A game against Empoli on February 19, and had to undergo surgery.
There had been fears that Totti may not recover in time for the World Cup, but he always backed himself and made good progress.
He had been on the bench for Roma's last couple of games, but made his long-awaited return as a second half substitute at Inter.
Totti is an integral part of Italy coach Marcello Lippi's World Cup plans, and now looks set to boost his match fitness in the final league game of the season on Sunday.
