Roma playmaker Francesco Totti is making excellent progress in his recovery from a broken leg, according to doctors.
The 29-year-old was the driving force behind Roma's impressive season until he suffered a horrific injury in the Serie A game against Empoli in February.
The injury threw doubt on his involvement in this summer's World Cup, but Totti has determined to do everything he can to regain full fitness.
He is now ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery, and even took part in some gentle training with a specially selected light football.
"I'm not surprised Francesco is doing so well," said professor Mariani, who carried out the operation.
"His recovery is going very well. He is six days ahead of the plans we set out for him."
