Juve were in imperious form as they rolled over Empoli, with three goals in the opening 16 minutes stunning the hosts at Stadio Carlo Castellani.
David Trezeguet had already scored the opener when former Arsenal captain Vieira added number two.
Mauro Camoranesi made it three soon after and Trezeguet wrapped up the scoring in the second half.
Udinese are also unbeaten, and they registered a fine 1-0 win against Roma, courtesy of a goal from Sulley Muntari.
Livorno are the third team on maximum points - and they ensured that they made it two wins in two with a late, late winner against Treviso. Cristiano Lucarelli was the hero in a 1-0 victory.
Fiorentina were held to a 2-2 draw with Messina despite taking a two-goal lead through Luca Toni and Valeri Bojinov. Arturo Di Napoli and Marco Zoro Kpolo scored the goals for Messina to give them their first point of the campaign.
Davide Mandelli's strike gave Chievo a 1-0 win against Parma, whilst Lecce and Ascoli played out a goal-less draw.
Sampdoria picked up dramatic 3-2 victory against Reggina at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Emiliano Bonazzoli had given the hosts the lead, but Francesco Coaa levelled before Sergio Vopli restored Samp's lead.
Giacomo Tedesco was dismissed nine minutes from time and Andrea Gasbarroni appeared to have killed off the game with the third,
However, Simone Missiroli made things tense with a goal at the death, as Francesco Flachi missed a penalty for Sampdoria.
In the later game, Lazio came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Cagliari.
The Sardinian side got off to a fine start when David Suazo scored in the opening minute, but Sebastiano Siviglia levelled the score on 13.
