THE confusion surrounding Cristian Chivu's move to Roma appears to have finally been resolved, with the player being loaned from Ajax for the next four months.
Ajax recalled the player on Friday when Roma failed to provide the Amsterdam club with appropriate financial guarantees for the transfer.
Roma were adamant they had sent Ajax the bank guarantees, but this does not appear to be the case.
There were suggestions Ajax would include the player in their Champions League party, which was delivered to Uefa on Monday, but hard bargaining by Roma secured the Romanian defender's services for the next four months.
Chivu will be loaned to the Eternal City until January, at which point Roma will hopefully pay Ajax the first instalment of his transfer.
Ajax released a statement confirming the accord, saying both countries' Football Associations have agreed to sanction the deal.
