Juve moved six points clear of Internazionale and Milan thanks to Mauro German Camoranesi`s headed leveller in stoppage time at Stadio Renato Dalla'Ara.
Argentine striker Julio Cruz fired Bologna in front on 16 minutes with a low shot, and they weathered a storm of Juve pressure for the remainder of the first-half, with Alessandro Del Piero having an effort cleared off the line.
Juve piled forward in search of an equaliser, with Gianluca Zambrotta going close and Del Piero hitting a post.
Bologna came more into the game as Juve pressed further forward, and Giuseppe Signori forced a fine save out of Gianluigi Buffon from a free-kick.
The home side eventually secured a cushion 15 minutes from time when Tomas Locatelli clipped an expert shot over Buffon as Bologna caught Juve on the break.
Juve ensured a grandstand finish when Zambrotta`s shot deflected in off Michele Paramatti three minutes from time, and they grabbed an unlikely point in injury-time.
Zambrotta pounced on an error and crossed expertly for Camoranesi, who headed powerfully home.
Parma`s hopes of snatching a place in the Champions League were dealt a blow on Sunday as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Roma.
With rivals Lazio drawing 0-0 at Modena and Chievo slumping to defeat at lowly Empoli, the door was open for Parma, but they failed to take advantage.
Parma took the lead through Adriano on 40 minutes, the loan star smashing home a superb free-kick from 25 yards but Roma talisman Francesco Totti hauled his side level on the stroke of half-time.
Giovanni Guigou scored the winner with a far post tap in15 minutes from time to ensure the points stayed in the Eternal City.
Chievo took an early lead through Sasa Bjelanovic, but Empoli eased their relegation fears with goals from Antonio Busce and Stefano Lucchini giving them a vital win.
Basement side Torino were dealt another blow as they were beaten 3-1 at home by fellow strugglers Piacenza.
Alessandro Conticchio gave Torino a lead shortly before the hour, but Piacenza hit back and Enzo Maresca levelled the scores minutes later.
Goals in the final ten minutes by Eusebio Di Francesco and Claudio Ferrarese sealed victory for Piacenza and hammered another nail into Torino`s coffin.
Atalanta and Reggina are both scrapping for points, and Sunday`s 1-1 draw does nothing for either side`s hopes of survival.
Cristiano Doni fired Atalanta in front, but Emiliano Bonazzoli grabbed a point for Reggina.
Udinese and Brescia are both safely in mid-table and played out a tepid 0-0 draw.
