Bayer stars attract Italian interest

BAYER LEVERKUSEN'S run to the Champions League final has put several of their star men at the top of Serie A giants' wanted lists.

Inevitably Italian sides are once more desperate to bring the cream of the world's players into the country, to end the doldrums that have currently enveloped Serie A sides in Europe.

Valencia saw many of their best players snapped up on the back of their Champions League campaigns, and it now appears that Bayer face a similar challenge to keep hold of their stars.

Primarily, Brazilian defender Lucio looks set to be offered a move to Milan, after winning praise from Rossoneri icon Paolo Maldini.

"I am so impressed by him. Milan must buy him immediately," said the Italian captain.

"It's not easy to find experienced, talented players like Lucio and, when you do, you have to get them on board."

On top of this, there are also rumours that Bernd Schneider is a target of Juventus and Yildiray Basturk is being watched closely by Roma.
