ITALIAN Police have arrested one of Lazio's ultra fans believed to have attacked Roma player Carlos Zago.

The attack on the Roma star (pictured) and his family happened on Sunday morning just outside a restaurant in Rome.

Lazio players have condemned that episode and also Biancoazzurri president Sergio Cragnotti has apologised to Zago, but the family of the Brazilian International are said to be afraid fof remaining in Italy.

The wife of Zago has asked him to leave Roma next season. It is the first time that a supporter chief has attacked a rival player in Serie A, and indicates that the problem with violence in Italian football is far away from being solved.
