Italians chase midfielder but Kuzmanovic and Matavz reject move

Napoli are looking to strike a deal to sign Bayern Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal. However, the German club's sporting director Rudi Voller confirmed that Bayern Munich have already had an £8.5million offer for 24-year-old Chile International turned down. And Voller is more hopeful that Vidal will eventually sign a contract extension at the BayArena. Napoli head coach Walter Mazzarri is looking to build a competitive squad with the Serie A side having qualified for next season's UEFA Champions League. Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich told Corriere dello Sport: "Of course Vidal could come to Napoli. I can confirm they are in negotiations and a meeting has taken place. "I'm afraid I cannot add anything more right now."

Staying

Meanwhile, Zdravko Kuzmanovic will not be moving to the San Paolo. The player's agent Marko Naletilic has rejected rumours the Serbia International is set to leave his current club Stuttgart for the Italian giants. He told Tuttonapoli.net: "Kuzmanovic is a player of VfB and I have not been in touch with anyone from Napoli. "Should there be an interest in his services from a club like Napoli this would be flattering to us, of course. We would be in the need to talk about it should anything concrete happen in the future." Another player who will not be moving to Southern Italy is Groningen striker Tim Matavz. The 22-year-old Slovenia International is understood to be happy playing his football in Holland after failing to agree personal terms with Napoli back in January.
