Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti will miss Argentina's upcoming friendly against Japan due to injury.
Argentina coach Sergio Batista excluded Zanetti from the group that will play the Asian team on 8th October in Saitama.
The Argentine football association website confirmed that Zanetti was "left out following a telephone conversation between the doctors of his club and the national team doctor of Argentina, Dr Daniel Martinez.
"During the call it was confirmed that Zanetti would need more days to rest as he has not recovered from a chest injury."
Batista is not expected to name any replacement in the upcoming days.
