Internazionale have reached an agreement with mercurial midfielder Alvaro Recoba over a new contract.
The Uruguayan has been on the Serie A side's books since signing for the club way back in 1997.
Inter fans have taken the player to their hearts, as he has produced some stellar displays over the years, but his future at the Giuseppe Meazza had been plunged into doubt.
His previous contract expired last month and it was unclear whether he would be offered fresh terms.
However, Inter owner Massimo Moratti has confirmed a deal has been struck with the 30-year-old.
"Is he staying or going?" Moratti told the Italian media. "Recoba has renewed his contract."
The terms of the deal have not yet been made public, but it seems certain that the wage will be well below his previous contract.
