Internazionale are reportedly closing in on Sergio Almiron according to reports in the Italian press.
The Empoli midfielder has enjoyed an excellent campaign and his promptings from the middle of the field have seen him linked with some of Serie A's more illustrious clubs.
Inter have already engaged in discussions with Empoli with regards striker Francesco Tavano but it now appears that coach Roberto Mancini could mount a double raid.
Almiron arrived in Italy from Newell Old Boys in 2001, when he joined Udinese, and has since matured into an accomplished top flight performer.
Neither club has yet to comment on what kind of fee may be involved if Almiron makes the switch to the Nerazzurri.
