Internazionale are reportedly interested in Fiorentina striker Luca Toni.

The Nerazzurri are desperate to challenge for the top honours in Italy and Europe next year after a sub-standard campaign, with the Coppa Italia providing their last chance of silverware this term.

Manager Roberto Mancini is believed to have set his sights on Serie A's top scorer Toni, who has an impressive tally of 28 league goals this season.

However, the 28-year-old is contracted to Viola until 2009 and they are unlikely to part with him for anything less than an outrageous sum of money.

The chances of Toni moving would be further reduced if Fiorentina could secure the fourth UEFA Champions League spot.

They are currently two points clear of Roma with two games remaining, and are focusing all their energies on the league until the last game has been played.

"For the next two weeks we will not talk about the transfer market," said Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino.

"Now all our efforts are on obtaining a Champions League qualification that only a few months ago was just a dream."
