Internazionale owner Massimo Moratti has hinted Giuseppe Favalli could join city rivals Milan.
Favalli has been strongly linked with a move to the Rossoneri when his contract at Inter expires in the summer.
Moratti has now revealed that the former Lazio man could follow in the footsteps of Christian Vieri by swapping Inter for Milan on a free transfer.
"It's typical of the current transfer market," Moratti told the club's official website.
"When a contract is about to expire you can't stop someone from choosing the most convenient solution.
"Vieri did this and so has Favalli. I hope he has better luck than Vieri did.
"However, this is a choice you make to stay in Milan and not change house."
