Internazionale ended a miserable week on a high note after coming from behind to beat Ascoli 2-1.
The Nerazzurri crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at Villarreal, but have moved second in Serie A after success on Saturday.
Roberto Mancini was a worried man when his side fell behind to Marco Ferrante's penalty with 21 minutes on the clock.
However, his charges responded after the interval with goals from Julio Cruz and Sinisa Mihajlovic capping a fine turnaround.
The game ended on somewhat of a sour note when Cruz collected two quick bookings, although the dismissal failed to change the outcome of the game.
10-man Udinese stunned Livorno with a 2-0 success at Armando Picchi.
Udinese began the day looking over their shoulders, but are now seven points clear of the drop zone after the three-point haul.
Goals either side of half time settled the contest the visitors' way with Cesare Natali making it 2-0 after Vincenzo Iaquinta broke the deadlock after 35 minutes.
Udinese actually finished the contest a man light when Iaquinta saw red after 67 minutes, but thankfully for the visitors his indiscretion was not costly.
