Alvaro Recoba is to enter negotiations with Internazionale about extending his contract.
The Uruguayan forward has failed to establish himself as a regular in the Inter starting line-up this season, making most of his 22 appearances as a substitute.
The 29-year-old has become frustrated by his lack of opportunities to impress, but remains desperate to end his career at the San Siro.
His current deal expires in June, but it is expected that club president Massimo Moratti will offer him an extension spanning until 2009.
"There won't be any trouble," he said. "Moratti is like a father to me. We will talk and then we will decide together.
"My dream has always been to end my career playing for Inter."
