Uruguay have been hit by a double injury blow ahead of their friendly with England on Wednesday.
Inter Milan attacker Alvaro Recoba and Cagliari defender Diego Lopez have both not travelled with the squad for the game at Anfield and it is unlikely that caretaker boss Gustavo Ferrin will call-up any replacements.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea midfielder Gustavo Poyet has urged his country to play an open style of football rather than their rough style which has attracted a bad reputation.
"Please, let's play football and forget all the diving and bad challenges," pleaded Poyet.
"You must enjoy the game as you don't have too many chances to play against England.
"It is important for us to get back a bit of respect from everyone."
