The Italian League Disciplinary Commission have annulled Internazionale striker Adriano's two-match ban.

The Brazilian forward is enduring a difficult spell of form for the UEFA Champions League hopefuls but will be boosted by the news.

The club appealed against the suspension, which was dished out for TV evidence of a slap on Livorno defender Alessandro Grandoni.

Adriano pleaded his innocence and was backed by Grandoni, who felt it was an accident.

"We are really happy because our case has been accepted," said Inter president Giacinto Facchetti.

"Adriano didn't hit the opponent and he hadn't the intention to do it.

"Thanks are also due to Grandoni for his sporting behaviour."
