Internazionale captain Javier Zanetti hopes to recover from injury ahead of schedule.

The Argentina international was injured in the opening Serie A game against Treviso, and medical reports say he needs two months to recover.

However, Zanetti is hoping to get back in action ahead of schedule, and wants to return after the international break in October.

"I have a big will to surprise the doctors," Zanetti told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I'm already working. I will do everything I can. With this type of injury it's necessary to avoid any relapses. It would be dangerous.

"I've already started thinking about my return to the pitch. I want to shorten the time for my recovery.

"If they say it will take two and a half months, I'd like to come back after a month and a half.

"I want to find Inter at the top of the table when I get back. It would mean having done good things in the away match in Turin (against Juve)."
