Veron: We can handle pressure

Juan Veron has told Milan that Internazionale are ready for them.

Internazionale star Juan Sebastian Veron has told neighbouring rivals Milan that they do not worry him ahead of next month's UEFA Champions League quarter final.

Speaking exclusively to Skysports.com, Veron laughed off suggestions that the potential loss of Adriano through injury would be an important factor in the tie. Brazilian forward Adriano scored a hat-trick to send Inter into the last eight, but Veron believes his side have more than adequate back-up.

"Of course, it would be better if Adriano was available," Adriano told skysports.com. "But even if he isn't, we would still line up a deadly pair with the likes of Christian Vieri and Obafemi Martins, we must not worry."

And with a detectable tone of frustration in his voice, the former Manchester United and Chelsea man reflected on how different the two derbies could have been this season.

"I think we were very dangerous in both. In the first, we came out with a draw, while in the last one we were defeated by a Kaka goal, in the very first moment that we showed a lack of concentration.

"If we solve this problem, we can be optimistic."

Veron has been earning many plaudits for his recent performances, but the modest Argentine preferred to deflect the praise towards his team, before firing a warning to Milan about his team's current mentality.

"I really don't know if this is my best moment since I joined Inter," he stated. "I'm much more likely to believe that the team has improved.

"Maybe that's because we're more relaxed on the pitch and we can cope better with pressure."
