Juventus maintained their six-point lead at the top of Serie A with an away win at Lecce as Milan edged past Siena at home.

Alessandro Del Piero's 14th minute goal was sufficient to earn Juve a tenth success of the league season.

But they were unable to establish further daylight between themselves and the reigning champions as Andrei Shevchenko, not for the first time, came to Milan's rescue.

The Ukrainian hit-man broke the deadlock on 26 minutes but Lecce equalised through Stefano Argilli just past the half hour mark.

Shevchenko nabbed the winner on 37 minutes to leave Milan trailing Juventus but firmly clear of the remaining pack.

Internazionale's unbeaten run this season remains intact after they produced a dramatic comeback to snatch a 3-3 draw at Cagliari.

Gianfranco Zola's early penalty and an Antonio Langella goal on 33 minutes had Cagliari firmly in control.

Dejan Stankovic reduced the arrears before the interval but Mauro Esposito restored Cagliari's two-goal cushion on the hour mark.

Obafemi Martins brought Inter back into the game on 75 minutes and, with a minute left on the clock, the Nigerian striker poached an equaliser.

Roma's struggles continue as Emiliano Bonazzoli's 15th minute goal condemned Luigi Delneri's side to defeat at Reggina, who had Giacomo Tedesco dismissed in the final minute.

Local icon Paolo Di Canio proved to be a hero as his 84th minute penalty earned ten-man Lazio a 2-1 win at home to Bologna.

Tommaso Rocchi had put Lazio ahead on five minutes before Igli Tare levelled after the break. Ousmane Dabo was sent off for a second yellow card midway through the second half but Lazio pressed for their reward, which they got courtesy of Di Canio.

Parma overcame lengthy numerical inferiority to nick a much-needed 2-2 draw at home to Chievo Verona.

Alessandro Potenza was sent off for a professional foul after just 19 minutes before Carvalho Amauri's own goal on 54 minutes gave Parma the lead.

Amauri then scored at the right end before Chievo took the lead on 67 minutes through Vinicio Cesar. Domenico Morfeo grabbed a point for the hosts on 76 minutes.

Udinese remain in third position after David Di Michele earned the hosts a point against Messina, who had taken the lead through Nicola Amoruso on 12 minutes.

Fiorentina threw away a winning position when Christian Rigano's 70th minute goal was cancelled out by Livorno's Cristiano Lucarelli on 77 minutes.

Goals from Luca Toni and Franco Brienza were sufficient to lift Palermo up the table as they beat Sampdoria 2-0 at home.

Atalanta are still chasing their first win of the season as a 0-0 draw at home to Brescia left them bottom of Serie A.
