Juventus maintained their six-point lead at the top of Serie A with an away win at Lecce as Milan edged past Siena at home.

Alessandro Del Piero's 14th minute goal was sufficient to earn Juve a tenth success of the league season.

But they were unable to establish further daylight between themselves and the reigning champions as Andrei Shevchenko, not for the first time, came to Milan's rescue.

Fiorentina threw away a winning position when Christian Rigano's 70th minute goal was cancelled out by Livorno's Cristiano Lucarelli on 77 minutes.

Goals from Luca Toni and Franco Brienza were sufficient to lift Palermo up the table as they beat Sampdoria 2-0 at home.

Atalanta are still chasing their first win of the season as a 0-0 draw at home to Brescia left them bottom of Serie A.
