Serie A Round-up

Juventus extended the only perfect record in Serie A with a 3-0 success at Sampdoria.

Juventus extended the only perfect record in Serie A with a comfortable 3-0 success at Sampdoria.

Goals from Alessandro Del Piero, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet were enough to see off Samp.

Juve took the lead when they were awarded a controversial penalty which was slotted into the corner by Del Piero.

The Turin club weathered a storm of pressure before extending their lead when Ibrahimovic tucked a shot into the corner from close range and Trezeguet capped a fine display with a stunning volley three minutes from time.

Internazionale secured their first win of the season, but they tested the nerves of their supporters at Atalanta.

Atalanta led early on through Igor Bunta, but Inter dug in and second half goals from Dejan Stankovic and Alvaro Recoba had the visitors dreaming of victory.

Inter were pegged back five minutes from time when Giampaolo Pazzini hauled Atalanta level, but Brazilian striker Adriano nipped in to pinch the points for Roberto Mancini's side.

Messina caused the shock of the night, as they came away from champions Milan with a 2-1 win.

Milan appeared to be cruising to victory when Giuseppe Pancaro netted on 55 minutes, but goals by Domenico Giampa and Riccardo Zampagna stunned the San Siro crowd.

Lecce worked hard to take a point from their trip to Roma. Goals from Marco Casseti and Valeri Bojinov cancelled out efforts from Antonio Cassano and Alessandro Mancini.

Portuguese international Fernando Couto was on target in Lazio's 2-0 win at basement boys Brescia, while Cagliari proved too good for Siena.

Parma's sticky start to the season continued, as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Bologna, while Reggina proved too strong for Livorno.

The games between Palermo and Fiorentina and Chievo and Udinese finished goalless.
