Roma look set to complete a move for Parma star Matteo Ferrari in the coming week - and are also closing in on Chievo star Simone Perrotta.
Parma are still deep in debt and a profitable deal for Ferrari would ease the burden at the club.
Roma have been assiduous in their chase for the defender, and appear to have won the race for his signature.
The fee seems dependent on how many players go on loan from Giallorossi to Parma - but will be between é¼3 and 5 million (£2 to 3.8 million).
Roma coach Cesare Prandelli has made no secret of his desire to bring the player into the club - and a contract is likely to be agreed next week.
Chievo's Perrotta is another player that could be plying his trade in Rome next season - although there are still a number of clubs competing for his signature.
Roma are currently in pole position, but the likes of Internazionale, Porto and Palermo are all waiting in the wings.
