The Serbia & Montenegro international's contract with Lazio expires in the summer and it had been thought that Inter would swoop to sign him in the winter transfer window.
Although reports have suggested that a deal is close to being agreed, Mansoni says that they have still not received a concrete offer from Milan.
The Stankovic saga has hit the Roman side hard as they face losing one of their better players for nothing after he refused to sign a new deal at Stadio Olimpico.
"Stankovic? At present I've never heard Inter making any concrete offers," Masoni said during a TV program, leaving open the possibility of keeping the player until June when he will leave for nothing.
"We are working to avoid similar cases in the future."
However, it will not be an easy situation to avoid for the Eternal City side, as they are unable to offer their players new contracts until their financial situation has been sported out.
"In addition to having eight players with contracts that expire in 2004, there will be another eight in 2005," added Masoni.
"Until we have certainties over the financial situation, we will talk with all these players, Stam too.
"Because before we know what is happening it won't be serious to offer them anything, considering we don't know what type of financial situation there will be."
