Lazio chief executive Luca Baraldi has said they are still waiting for Dejan Stankovic to make a decision over his future.
His contract with the Rome club is due to expire in the summer, and the club are hoping to offer him a new deal.
If he decides to leave, though, he would be available on a free transfer, something Lazio are aware of.
Baraldi said: "The situation is still the same, I can't say anything at the moment, but a player like Dejan must think for a long time before taking an important decision. There are good signs that he will have a future here though."
Baraldi also spoke about Roberto Mancini, who has recently been linked with a move to Serie A rivals Internazionale.
He said: "According to speculation he was close to a move this summer, but he thought about it and decided to stay.
"I don't think he's only liked by Inter though, both him and Stankovic have been watched by many teams, but for the moment there isn't any news."
