BESIKTAS are striving to conclude a season-long loan deal for Internazionale midfielder Okan Buruk.

The Turkish international has been targeted by Besiktas' new coach Mircea Lucescu to bolster his armoury.

Okan only joined Inter last summer but made just a handful of appearances for the Nerazzurri, who are willing to offload him on a temporary basis.

The 28-year-old is currently on holiday but has spoken to Besiktas general manager Sinan Engin about the move and will announce his decision shortly.

He was in Turkey's World Cup squad but injury restricted him to a sole appearance in the third/fourth place play-off triumph over South Korea.

Okan's former club Galatasaray attempted to buy the midfielder from Inter during the course of last season but were rebuffed.

Now Besiktas have stolen in with director Yildirim Demiroren believed to have gained consent from Inter to take Okan back to Turkey.
