Catania President Antonino Pulvirenti has revealed Alejandro Gomez will leave the Serie A side this summer.
A number of European clubs are believed to have been monitoring Gomez's situation, with Pulvirenti previously claiming than Atletico Madrid were close to a move, while Inter Milan technical director Marco Branca also admitted that they were keeping tabs on him.
The Argentine enjoyed a strong campaign with Catania, scoring eight times in 36 games and helping his side to an impressive eighth place finish in the process.
Gomez has spent the last three years with the Italians having made the move from San Lorenzo in 2010, but Pulvirenti says that the 25-year old is set for an exit.
"There is a really serious negotiation, probably next week he will leave," he said.
"Atletico Madrid? I can't say it."
