Australian starlet Terry Antonis claims to have agreed a switch to Parma, but Sydney FC are yet to confirm the deal.

The 19-year-old is currently in Italy training with the Serie A outfit.

He says a transfer is close to being completed, with personal terms on a multi-year contract having been agreed.

"It's always been my dream to play in Serie A and I couldn't be happier," Antonis was quoted as saying on The World Game.

"It's a fantastic set-up over here and a huge opportunity for me to further my career.

"To be joining the same club that Vince Grella and Mark Bresciano played for is a privilege. I hope I can taste some of the success they enjoyed in Italy."

Antonis will, however, have to wait on current employers Sydney FC sanctioning a move before he can chase the dream in Europe - with a transfer fee yet to be agreed.

Sydney CEO Tony Pignata said: "I am glad Terry has accepted because we haven't yet. I haven't spoken to Terry or the club and no-one has contacted me.

"Parma have made an offer to Sydney FC and we are still looking at it.

"I'll speak with Parma officials later to see where we are at with it all."
