Serie A newcomers Pescara have signed Standard Liege midfielder Birkir Bjarnason.
After joining the club on loan during the summer, the 24-year-old has convinced the Italians to sign him on a permanent contract.
The Iceland international initially impressed the Italians when he was on national team duty.
"It has gone as well as I hoped," Bjarnason told Stavanger Aftenbad.
"I have now signed a contract that expires in 2014. I have never enjoyed life as a footballer as much as now."
After signing the contract, Bjarnason now hopes to help Pescara remain in Serie A.
"I have settled very well at Pescara. The Italians love football. The target is to stay in Serie A," he added.
