Alexandre Pato has revealed that he signed for Corinthians in order to play for "the best team in the world".
The 23-year-old striker returned to his native Brazil in a £12.2million deal at the beginning of January following five-and-a-half injured-plagued years with AC Milan.
Pato said: "I changed Milan for Corinthians because it is the best team in the world. Corinthians are the latest Copa Libertadores champions and also the latest Club World Cup champions."
Pato, who scored 63 goals in 150 matches at the San Siro, thanked Milan and president Silvio Berlusconi for his time with the club.
He added: "Berlusconi is a very important person for me, but now I think only of Corinthians.
"I have a four-year contract, I am happy and I want to represent my team in the best way possible."
