Montenegrin set to remain at Artemio Franchi Stadium

Fiorentina president Mario Cognigni has indicated he would like striker Stevan Jovetic to remain at the club. The 22-year-old Montenegrin has been linked with UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea and the West London club were reportedly keen to sign him in January. Now Cognigni has stressed that it is important for the Tuscan outfit to keep a hold of their prized asset if they wish to compete with the big clubs. He told Radio Crc: "We have a very long contract with Jovetic, and recently, his agent reiterated that the player would like to remain in Florence, so there will be no sale. "In Italian football it is difficult for all clubs to keep their main assets, but Jovetic has expressed his desire to stay and it's highly unlikely that he will be tempted away." Jovetic, who joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2008, scored 14 league goals in 27 league appearances for the club this season.
