Veteran pair to follow Nesta out of Milan in the summer

Long-serving duo Gennaro Gattuso and Filippo Inzaghi are joining fellow veteran Alessandro Nesta in leaving AC Milan at the end of the season. Nesta confirmed on Thursday that he is ending his 10-year stay with the Rossoneri, while Gattuso and Inzaghi have spent even longer at San Siro. Former Italy international Inzaghi moved to Milan from Juventus in 2001 and the 38-year-old offered a tribute after announcing his decision. Inzaghi told Milan's official website: "The first and only thing that I want you to know forever is this: I played and won for us. "Playing without sharing emotions means nothing, but you and I, we, we did everything together. We were always on the same wavelength, and no-one will ever take that away from us." Midfielder Gattuso, who joined in 1999, added: "I'm going away for a year, this is goodbye. The moment has come to move myself away, but I don't know yet where I will go." Inzaghi and Gattuso won two Serie A titles and two UEFA Champions League titles in over a decade at the club, and both were World Cup winners with Italy in 2006. The departures will necessitate some rebuilding work at Milan, who lost their Serie A title to Juventus last weekend.
