Striker to see specialist over on-going injury problems
AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has travelled to the United States for treatment on his on-going muscular problems.
The 22-year-old has been plagued by injury in the last two seasons, spending 13 spells on the treatment table.
A thigh injury is the Brazil international's latest problem, which kept him out of the second leg of Milan's UEFA Champions League last-16 tie with Arsenal.
Pato will have a specialist consultation in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been accompanied to America by club doctors Jean Pierre Meersseman and Bruno Dominici.
A Milan club statement read: "Pato will undergo medical tests and a specialist consultation with Professor Frederick Carrick at the Life University of Marietta."
Chief executive Adriano Galliani added: "It's one of my concerns. He will visit another specialist in the USA, but he is a great player and will remain with us."
The club also confirmed that Filippo Inzaghi will miss three weeks with a right thigh strain sustained in the Coppa Italia semi-final defeat against Juventus.
