Valeri Bojinov's agent has revealed the striker would be open to a return to Italy after falling out of favour at Sporting.
Bojinov only made the move to Portugal from Parma last summer but his future has been thrown into doubt following an incident in the recent cup game against Moreirense.
The game was poised at 1-1 in stoppage time when Sporting were awarded a penalty and Bojinov decided he wanted to take responsibility.
He pushed team-mate Matias Fernandez, Sporting's usual penalty-taker, when the Chilean asked him for the ball, only to see his shot saved.
Sporting fans immediately booed and the club decided to suspend Bojinov from first-team activities.
The former Manchester City man has now been linked with a loan switch elsewhere and his agent, Gerry Palomba, admits there is a lot of interest from across Europe.
Moodiness
A move back to Serie A appears to be one option and Palomba is aware of speculation suggesting Lecce and Fiorentina are in the running.
Palomba told
tuttomercatoweb.com: "I can confirm that Sporting's intention is to send Valeri on loan until the end of the season.
"There is a bit of moodiness around the boy, because of a missed penalty.
"Lecce and Fiorentina interested? There are many European teams in for him, for example in Switzerland, Spain and Ukraine.
"I have not been contacted by Fiorentina, but he would be happy to return to Italy.
"The problem could be his salary."
