Sardinian side snap up striker after Inter release

Honduran striker David Suazo has returned to Cagliari after he was released by Inter Milan earlier this summer. The 31-year-old has signed a one-year deal at the Stadio Saint'Elia, with the option for a further season. Suazo spent eight years at Sardinian side Cagliari before departing for the San Siro in 2007, but struggled to establish himself with the Nerazzurri. After being sent out on loan stints to Benfica and Genoa during his second and third seasons at Inter, the striker failed to make a single appearance last term. Rossoblu president Massimo Cellino expressed his interest in re-signing Suazo earlier this month, and the Serie A club has now confirmed the deal has been completed. "It took about half an hour for president Massimo Cellino and Honduras striker David Suazo to reach an agreement," said a statement on Cagliari's official website. "The agreement is for one year's deal with the possibility of a renewal."
