Constant and Vinetot also close to completing switches

AC Milan starlet Alexander Merkel has completed a loan switch to Genoa. The 19-year-old midfielder has spent the last three years on the books at the San Siro, but has made only a handful of senior appearances. His switch to Genoa has arisen after the club secured part-ownership of his contract rights. The Kazakhstan-born teenager, who has opted to play international football for Germany, put the finishing touches to a loan move on Monday.

Pivot

He looks set to be joined at Genoa next season by Chievo midfielder Kevin Constant and Crotona defender Kevin Vinetot. All three players have undergone medicals and Constant and Vinetot are set to follow Merkel's lead by putting pen to paper in the next few days. "I haven't signed yet," said Constant. "I have to wait for a few days, but I am very happy to come here. I will be the pivot in a midfield of three or four, and I can also play in behind a two-man midfield."
