Genoa president Enrico Preziosi revealed earlier this week that Galliani calls him every day, but made it clear Criscito would not be leaving this month.

Milan vice-president Galliani has now responded by declaring that he has identified other transfer targets.

"We are looking for a left-back," he told reporters.

"I rule out that it's Criscito. The full-back we have chosen plays abroad and can participate in the Champions League.

"If he doesn't come, then we'll stay the way we are."

Reports in Italy suggest Milan have set their sights on Espanyol left-back Didac Vila.
