Houssine Kharja's agent has indicated the Genoa midfielder would consider a move to Bari.
Bari are currently bottom of the Serie A table, six points adrift of safety, and face a struggle to preserve their top-flight status.
However, Kharja may still be interested in joining the relegation-threatened club after a frustrating season at Genoa.
The Morocco international had been a key player under former boss Gian Piero Gasperini but has fallen out of favour since Davide Ballardini took charge.
"Houssine is an important player that [Bari director Guido] Angelozzi would like to bring to the club," Kharja's representative Giuseppe Galli told Tuttomercatoweb.
"A person doesn't just look at the standings when making a decision in regards to a new team. There are other factors."
