Genoa have bolstered their squad with the signing of Slovakia midfielder Juraj Kucka from Sparta Prague.
The 23-year-old, who was part of his country's World Cup squad last summer, has agreed a deal keeping him at the club until 2015.
He is reported to have joined for a fee in the region of 3.6million euros (£3m) after Genoa saw off competition for his signature.
Genoa brought in a host of new faces before the start of the season and were expected to mount a strong challenge for European qualification.
But they have struggled for consistency and currently occupy a mid-table berth at the halfway point of the campaign.
