Adriano Galliani has admitted that AC Milan are keeping tabs on Cagliari striker Alessandro Matri.
The 26-year-old striker came through the youth ranks at Milan but was never able to make a first-team breakthrough.
Having spent three seasons out on loan in the lower leagues, he joined Cagliari on a permanent basis in 2007.
He has impressed over the past few years and worked closely under current Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri for much of his stay at Cagliari.
Reports have suggested that the Rossoneri could be looking to bring Matri back to the San Siro in the January transfer window.
Vice-president Galliani has refused to confirm Milan's intentions but has hinted that Matri could be on the club's radar.
"Matri? He is a Cagliari player who we sold after he grew up in our youth academy, therefore we know him very well," Galliani told Corriere dello Sport.
