Lazio midfielder Cristian Brocchi has revealed that he turned down a move to AC Milan in the summer.
The 34-year-old defensive midfielder has recently signed new terms with the Rome-based club after moving from the Rossoneri in 2008.
If he returns to the San Siro at any point in the future it will be his third spell at the club, and Brocchi says he could have made a return during the transfer window.
"This summer there was the opportunity to return to Milan," he told insidefutbol.
"But it seemed right to take a step back. In Rome I'm fine. I have a good relationship with the club and I've extended my contract by one year."
Brocchi began his career with Milan and spent seven years with the club between 2001 and 2008, although he did have a short stint with arch rivals Inter Milan.
